Southern Comforts - Joann Ross 4 Stars

Welcome to Raintree, Georgia -- Steamy Capital of Sin, Scandal and Murder.

To her fans, Roxanne Scarbrough is the genteel Southern queen of good taste -- she's built an empire around the how-to's of gracious living. To her critics -- and there are many -- Roxanne is Queen Bitch. And now somebody wants her dead.

Chelsea Cassidy, Roxanne's official biographer, knows that Roxanne is determined to keep her dark secrets buried, whatever the cost. But when Chelsea begins to unearth the truth about Roxanne's life, her search leads her back into the arms of Cash Beaudine, a man Roxanne wants for herself.

And suddenly Chelsea's investigation takes on a very personal nature -- with potentially fatal consequences.

Moon Fever - Susan Sizemore, Maggie Shayne

In "Tempting Fate" by Susan Sizemore, Desiree dreams she spent a passion-filled night with sexy rock star Jon Coyote...and that he told her he was a vampire. But when Desiree discovers she is mysteriously pregnant, her erotic fantasy takes a strangely realistic turn.

An angry ghost is haunting Caroline's house in "The Darkness Within" by award-winning author Maggie Shayne. But when sexy private investigator Jim Lipton offers to help discover what is going on, Caroline suspects that he has a personal interest in her ghost -- and in her.

In "Cobwebs Over the Moon" by Lori Handeland, Manhattanite Carly Kelly is pursued by werewolves across the wintry Alaskan wilderness, and only ruggedly handsome soldier Dylan Shepard stands between her and death.

Lycanthropy takes an exotic tropical twist in "Crazy for the Cat" by Caridad Piceiro. When scientist Jessica Morales travels to the Amazon jungle, she discovers that beneath the savage grace of her local guide, the handsome Javier da Costa, lurks a hidden wildness that is as tempting as it is dangerous.

Blood Moon & The Brotherhood - Dawn Thompson

I got these two books because I enjoyed The Ravencliff Bride & The Falcon's Bride.

However, Blood Moon and The Brotherhood were big disappointments.

BLOOD MOON - Jon Hyde-White is changed. Soon he will cease to be an earl's second son and become a ravening monster. Already lust grows, begging him to drink blood and the blood of his fiance Cassandra Thorpe will be sweetest of all.

Is that not why the blasphemous creature Sebastian bursts upon them from the London shadows? But Sebastian's evil task remains incomplete, and neither Jon nor Cassandra is beyond hope. One chance remains in faraway Moldavia, in a secret brotherhood, in an ancient ritual and in the power of love.

THE BROTHERHOOD - Joss Hyde-White leaves London for answers about who and what he is. What he finds is a carriage, and a scene of horror interrupted within. A chestnut-haired beauty lies prone, requiring his assistance. But safety is not easily provided.

On this night that brings to mind vampires and the foulest creatures of myth, it is difficult to tell man or woman from beast. From this moment forward, no one and nothing can be trusted not even his own instincts. Joss is on the road to the truth, leading to the secret of his parents, to the Blood Moon Rite of ancient Persia, to an enigmatic Gypsy and The Brotherhood.

Secret Fantasy by Cheryl Holt - 4 Stars

Orphaned at a young age and sent to live with selfish relatives, Margaret Gray has no dowry and no chance of ever marrying. When her aunt invites Jordan Prescott for a visit, hoping to entice him into offering for Margaret's spoiled cousin, the dashing war hero instead tempts Margaret into a truly decadent decision. If Margaret cannot have a husband, perhaps she dares, just once, to taste the pleasures of the flesh? Now that she's awakened to her own desires and sensations, she is drawn body and soul into a rapturous clandestine liaison.
Since his dissolute father squandered the family fortune, Jordan is required to marry an heiress in order to provide for his half-siblings. Yet no woman has ever aroused him as much as Margaret. Her sedate exterior belies a bold, curious spirit and tantalizing sexuality. A single illicit tryst becomes a month-long journey in carnal abandon, but with Jordan's visit drawing to a close, can their passion survive the dangerous scheming that threatens to keep them apart?

Quickly wedded and passionately bedded, Sophie is now a captive in a Highland haven of rebels and cattle thieves. One Knight Only - Julia Latham 1 Star

She knew she would have to risk her life . . .

Daring and adventurous, Anne Kendall would give anything to join the secret band of warrior knights known as the League of the Blade, and she eagerly agrees to a perilous masquerade. But then Sir Philip Clifford, a reckless, brutally handsome knight, joins their party, bringing back memories of stolen kisses, passionate longings, and one night when she would have done anything to be his.

But not her heart . . .
Anne would prefer to concentrate on the dangerous mission at hand . . . but the glorious, savage passion that begins to develop between her and this unruly warrior may prove him to be the knight of her dreams . . . and her fantasies.
My thoughts: The picture kinds of makes me a little sick. Just because the guys arm has this huge vein popping out of it kind of disgusting. After that initial reaction, I started reading the book but couldn't get into it that much.
