SCORE!! I got a bunch of books today.

I went to the library and found 6 books, I wanted to read, just returned. YAY!! Of course the one I went there for, someone had got right before me, Sandra Brown - Play Dirty.

Then since, my library is only a couple blocks from my Used Book Store, I headed over there to trade some books, and came home with 6 more books.

So today I got 12 books for the cost of only $8.

The books are pictured to the right. So you'll be seeing alot more reviews from me coming up.
In the UBS pics the stack on the left is what I got today, the stack on the right, is what I got a while back, but have yet to read.

Highlander Untamed - Monica McCarty (5 Stars)

Highlander Untamed by Monica McCarty - I gave it 5 Stars, It's a KEEPER!!

This is the first book, I've read by this author and I loved it. I can't wait for the next two of this series, "Highlander Unmasked", and "Highlander Unchained".

Rory MacLeod is a bold and powerful Highland Chief with only one allegiance–to his clan. He vows revenge against the rival MacDonald clan, though duty demands a handfast marriage to Isabel MacDonald–a bride he does not want and has no intention of keeping. But Rory couldn’t have anticipated the captivating woman who challenges his steely control, and unleashes the untamed passion simmering beneath his fierce exterior.

Blessed with incomparable beauty, Isabel MacDonald is prepared to use every means possible–including seduction–to uncover her husband’s most guarded secrets. Instead Rory awakens Isabel’s deepest desires and her sweetest fantasies. Now Isabel has found the happiness she’s always dreamed of with the very man she must betray, and discovers that passion can be far more dangerous than revenge.

Into The Dark - Cindy Gerard (4 Stars)

This is the 5th in Cindy Gerard's Bodyguard Series...and the long awaited reunion between Amy Walker and Dallas Garett. We were first introduced to these two in Ethan's Story, and now it's time for theirs. I gave this 4 stars.

Dallas Garrett returned from Jolo as a changed man. Though he knew it was for the best, when Amy Walker disappeared from his life, he felt a big gaping hole inside himself. Fighting his own demons, Dallas is shocked when Amy turns up on his doorstep, soaking wet and exhausted. Though barely a day went by that he didn't think about her, Dallas feels a sense of impending doom that he can't brush aside.

Dallas saved Amy once. She goes to him knowing that he is the sole person that can keep her safe. On a mission of revenge, Amy is determined to find her grandfather, Edward Walker, and kill him. Using mind control experiments on Amy's mother, Edward had Amy kidnapped by the terrorist group that held her captive for over six months. While needing his support, Amy doesn't want Dallas anymore involved that he already is. She soon realizes that Dallas will be impossible to brush off, even if she wanted to.

The long awaited conclusion of Amy and Dallas finds the two in Argentina where Amy looks for the man responsible for ruining her mother's life and almost ruining her own and Dallas just tries to keep Amy safe. Introducing an intriguing new character, Gerard has surely kept the door open for this series even though it is an end to E.D.E.N. I was thoroughly satisfied to the conclusion of these two characters.

This is the 4th book in Cindy Gerard's Bodyguard Series....I loved this one. 5 Stars

When he has finally hit rock bottom he contacts his old friend Nolan Garrett and before he knows it he's playing the role of bodyguard to none other then hot rocker "Sweet Baby Jane." To The Brink - Cindy Gerard (4 Stars)

This is the 3rd in Cindy Gerard's Bodyguards Series. I gave it 4 Stars.
I loved this story, the connection between Darcy and Ethan was amazing. And Ethan was very charming and sweet, especially with the whole Cheery LifeSavers thing.

Working on highly sensitive diplomatic affairs, Darcy Prescott is a natural target for terrorist kidnappers. But when she’s mysteriously plucked off a street in Manila one sultry night, Darcy’s disappearance isn’t what it seems…

The moment Special Forces soldier Ethan Garrett laid eyes on Darcy, he knew she was the woman he would marry—and he did. But when their marriage fell apart, Ethan never really recovered. Now a highly paid bodyguard, Ethan quickly slips back into combat mode when he learns of Darcy’s disappearance and calls in old favors to assemble a rogue rescue team….

Tracking Darcy all the way to the jungles of the Philippines, Ethan knows every move he makes could mean the difference between life and death. His love for Darcy burns stronger than ever. But when he learns the true reason for her abduction, it may be too late to save her—or himself…

To The Limit - Cindy Gerard (2 1/2 Stars)

This is the 2nd book in her Bodyguards Series. I gave this one 2 1/2 stars. I didn't like it as much as the others.

HER RULES: NEVER DOUBT YOUR INSTINCTS...
Please come...and hurry. The frantic message was for securities specialist Eve Garrett, left by her friend, Tiffany, the missing teenage daughter of Florida's most reclusive multi-billionaire, Jeremy Clayborne. However, the only thing Eve found at the stormy midnight rendezvous was a nameless, faceless attacker who left her for dead. But the biggest knockout was yet to come...

NEVER TRUST THE BAD BOYS...
Tyler "Mac" McClain, the arrogantly sexy beach bum who seduced and abandoned Eve years ago is back. Now he's a P.I. hire by Clayborne's own camp to find Tiffany, a party girl on a party run. With two attempts on Eve's life, Mac has reason to suspect it's something more sinister.

AND NEVER SAY NEVER.
Where the search is taking Eve and Mac is into the dark secrets of the rich and famous, into the menacing shadow of a killer playing by his own rules, and into the heart of a sizzling desire re-ignited by the danger that threatens to claim them both.

The Higlander's Stolen Bride by Melanie George (5 Stars)

I absolutely loved this book. This one is going on my bookshelf, it's a KEEPER!

Lady Rosalyn Carmichael is on the run from her evil stepbrother, who will do anything to gain her inheritance. When Derek Hardwicke rescues her from an attempted kidnapping in London, she gratefully accepts the protection of his remote Scottish castle. And though Derek's devilishly handsome looks inspre scandalous fantasies, a secret from her past means those fantasies must forever remain dreams...

A Highland laird, Derek intends to marry his childhood friend Megan MacPherson, since only a Scottish wife will satisfy his clan. But beautiful Rosalyn awakens feeling he never dreamed he'd have. And while he has promised to keep her safe, the attraction between them burns too hot to deny. Now, with danger inching ever close he must choose between his allegiance to his clan and a passion like he's never known.

This book is the third in Melanie George's "The Pleasure Seekers" Series, but can be read alone.

The Might Quinns: Marcus by Kate Hoffman (4 Stars)

This was a really good book, I gave it 4 Stars.

Boat restorer Marcus Quinn is not going to sleep with the infamous Eden Ross. As soon as he discovers the poor little rich girl stowaway, he knows he should throw her overboard. Instead he tries his best to ignore her topless sunbathing and blatant teasing. But when that fails, what else can he do but give her exactly what she's asking for—frenzied, brain-numbing sex? And a little bit more…

With her sex video scandal about to hit the tabloids, Eden Ross just wants to hide out on her daddy's boat for a while. Then she finds mouthwatering Marcus Quinn working onboard, and she can't deny herself a little fun. After all, if Marcus thinks she is some serial sexpot out to use him for his body, how can it hurt to prove him…right?

I can't wait to read his brothers books "Ian" & "Declan":

Don't Talk Back To Your Vampire by Michele Bardsley (3 Stars)

This is the second book in Michele Bardsley's series of a small town of single parents, whom get attacked by a rogue vampire. They must all soon learn how to live and thrive as vampires, since their town is now becoming vampire central.

Eva LeRoy is the town librarian whom still runs the library and cares for her teenage daughter (who's funny too and falls for a vampire hunter). Lorcan is a handsome vamp who's been healed from 'the taint' which cause him to kill Eva and 11 other members of the community and he's guilt ridden although still VERY sexy.

I didn't like this one as much as the first one "I'm The Vampire, That's Why". But it was still a good read. And who can deny Lorcan the lonely.

Michele Bardsley is a good author who has done a great job on this series. The characters are hilarious, and the romances heart-warming.

Elevator by Angela Hunt (1/2 Star)

I'm being nice hear folks, giving it even a 1/2 star. This story is about three women who get stuck in an elevator during a hurricane. One is a wife who just discovered her husband is cheating. Another woman just discovered she's pregnant and is the other-woman. And the third is an office cleaner, who has a secret of her own.
It sounded good, when I picked it up at the library. It failed to meet my expectations. Thank goodness, I didn't spend any money on this one.

Bride for a Knight (1 1/2 Stars)

I recently read "Bride for a Knight" by Sue-Ellen Welfonder, and found it well, rather boring. It took a long time to get into it, and when it finally started going somewhere it wasn't that good.

My rating for this book is a dismal 1 1/2 stars. Somebody just requested this book from me on paperbackswap.com. So at least I'll get a credit towards a book I want.
