Master of Desire by Kinley MacGregor - 4 1/2 Stars

Draven de Montague, Earl of Ravenswood, would never have entered the home of his most hated adversary had not the King himself ordered Draven to take in his foe's daughter for a year, to forge bonds of peace between their two feuding houses.

Yet here is a lass whose spirit and loveliness could tempt Draven to betray his sworn vow never to let another close to his heart. Emily knows the searing heat of her passion could burn down stubborn Draven's defenses -- but will his surrender ignite a blaze so hot it consumes them both?

Lord of Desire by Paula Quinn - 3 1/2 Stars

He Is Every Woman's Fantasy...Darkly handsome and sensual, Lord Brand Risande--known as "The Passionate"--is temptation incarnate. But his prowess on the battlefield and in the bedchamber hides a bitter secret: the betrayal that has sealed his heart. And One Woman's Destiny.Lady Brynnafar Dumont is prepared to do anything to protect her people--even seduce the savage Norman knight who defeated her father. Prepared to face down a cold-blooded beast, she instead confronts a wickedly attractive scoundrel who wants nothing to do with her. It's enough to sting a lady's pride...and strengthen her resolve. Innocent as she is, now she must use all her charms to defeat Lord Brand in the only battle worth fighting--the one for his love.

Loved it. Can't wait to read Dante's story.

Dante's Story

Elijah by Jacquelyn Frank - 3 Stars

They are called the Demons, one of the elusive Nightwalker races living in shadow and struggling for survival against their human enemies. Their proudest warrior is Elijah, a man who bends for nothing and no one...until one woman brings him to his knees...

Some Feelings You Just Can't Fight

He is known as the Warrior Captain--a master of every weapon, a fierce soldier sworn to protect his kind. Powerful, relentless, merciless, Elijah has always won every battle he's ever taken on--until now. Ambushed by necromancers, he is left for dead only to be discovered by the woman who could very well deliver the final blow...Siena, the Lycanthrope Queen.

With three centuries of warring, little more than a decade of uneasy peace has existed between the Lycanthropes and Elijah's people. Now, after a lifetime of suspicion, the warrior in Elijah is consumed with a different battle--winning Siena's heart by giving her pleasure beyond all boundaries. What starts as attraction and arousal soon burns into a passion with consequences that will echo through the ages for both their people. And as would-be enemies become inseparable lovers, another threat approaches, one with the power to destroy them all...

Well, Elijah did a little better then Gideon, but still I found it lacking. The one book I'm really looking forward to is Noah's story. Hopefully she can pull out the best for Noah as she did for Jacob.

Gideon by Jacquelyn Frank - 2 Stars

In Frank 's seductively crafted universe (introduced in last year's Jacob: The Nightwalkers), demons aren't the clawed horrors of myth (unless they're possessed by the book's villainous necromancers); they're handsome, proud, sensuous and decidedly ambivalent about the world of mortals.

Demons have a thousands-year-old rule forbidding them from coupling with humans, who aren't made to survive sex with the charismatic Nightwalkers; male protagonist Gideon, an ancient healer demon (who, naturally, doesn't look a day over 35), has spent eight years in self-imposed exile after attempting to break that law.

Recently returned, guilt-wracked Gideon is finally drawn to the true object of his desire: the even-more-forbidden Magdelegna, young sister of hot-tempered demon king Noah. Though Magdelegna's kin raise hell over the May-December romance (at 250 years old, Magdelegna is barely an adult), the pair's breathtaking sex scenes raise more.

I didn't like this one that much. Jacob was a five and this one dropped my opinion of the offer, hopefully Elijah will bring it back up.

Ransom by Julie Garwood - 5 STARS

In the dark days after the death of Richard the Lionhearted, lives and lands would fall into upheaval at the hands of a power-hungry British ruler and his violent minions. One victim of the scourge is innocent Gillian, who is a mere child when the cruel and ambitious Baron Alford slaughters her father and tears her family apart.

Alford, determined to recover a jeweled box for the despotic King John, is furious when the precious treasure slips through his fingers -- only to be lost for more than a decade.

Now a beautiful young woman, Gillian finds the key to resolving her past in handsome Scottish chieftains Ramsey Sinclair and Brodick Buchanan. With the cunning and courage of the daring Scotsmen, and with the friendship of a new ally, Bridgid KirkConnell, Gillian at last fights the unscrupulous Baron Alford, laying claim to her home, her family, and her father's reputation.

But in the presence of the mighty warrors, Gillian and Bridgid discover that desire can be a weapon of conquest...betrayal can slay trust in a heartbeat...and the greatest risk of all is surrender -- to the deep emotions of unexpected love.

I absolutely loved this story. But wish there was more of Brigid and Ramsey's story. Oh well. Now I have to read "The Secret" which was a prequel to this one.

Long time....I'm Back

It's been a long time since I've posted. I've been busy with trying to find acting jobs, trying to find a regular job, and family things.

Now that my mom had her surgery and is recovering I will start looking for a job. I have been reading a lot lately, just haven't had time to post. So I will do my best to make time.

I'd say from the last time I posted until I've read about 20-25 books.
