This is the second book in the "Midnight Breed" Series by Lara Adrian.This is Dante's story. Dante comes to Veterinarian Tess Culvers office riddled in bullets and rapidly losing blood. Dante is dying and needs blood without a thought to anything but her survival he lunges at Tess. He drinks and drinks until he feels he is healing, but when he sits up he notices something that shocks him to the core.
Tess has the mark of a "Breedmate", and she is now bonded to him. He has no choice but to protect and care for her. Especially now that they know whom the leader of the Rogues is and that he is building up for something big.
